MACAU, China, September 10, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival this year, Sands China Ltd. held an opening ceremony for the Sands shopping carnival 2022 Saturday at The Venetian®Macauofficially launching the popular annual event attended by representatives from government, finance and business.
The carnival provides an ideal shopping and entertainment center for families under one roof, and aims to give back to the community by providing the best deals to Macau residents and tourists to stimulate domestic consumption and help revive the economy. This is the third year that Sands China has provided the shopping and entertainment hotspot, after the total number of visits for the last two carnivals topped 210,000.
The Carnival of shopping in the sands is the largest sales event in Macau and is open to the public Admission fee of noon to 10 p.m. every day, from Saturday to Monday, 10-12 Sept. at Cotai Expo Halls A and B. Once again this year, exhibitors were able to register for the stands free of charge. In total, the Sands Shopping Carnival 2022 includes more than 530 stalls and features a total of 8 exhibition areas on the other side 21,000 square meters: Sand dealers; household products; family fun products; gourmet; healthy lifestyle; sports accessories; cultural, creative and intellectual property; and children’s enjoyment.
Among its more than 260,000 products, the Sands Shopping Carnival 2022 offers 12,000 special MOP 1 daily items to treat shoppers to a weekend shopping spree. As usual, Sands Cares Ambassadors provide on-site support to local community organizations that have been invited to participate in the carnival and run booths run by community organizations during the carnival as part of the company’s ongoing support to social inclusion.
Free parking is available for exhibition visitors, and free shuttles travel routes between the carnival and various points in the city: the building of the Luso International Bank in Nam Van, the southern entrance of the Fai Chi Kei Dai Win supermarket, the border gate and the port of Hengqin (Macau side).
sands China again implements a series of strict disinfection and safety measures to protect public health during carnival and prevent the transmission of COVID-19. These include, among others: temperature checks at the entrance; crowd size monitoring to ensure a safe number of attendees via counts at venue entrances; mandatory face masks and health code checks; socially distanced cabins; regular disinfection and cleaning of public spaces and children’s facilities to ensure public hygiene; and sanitizers and hand sanitizers at all booths and at all carnival entry and exit points.
