LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The newest member of the Vegas Golden Knights squad spoke at a press conference in Las Vegas for the first time since being traded. It was the first opportunity for the media to ask him some questions.
Eichel, who was a star center for the Buffalo Sabers, said his last 24 hours in the city have been upsetting, but he is very happy to be a part of the VGK team. He must be operated on in four days for a herniated disc in his neck. His recovery is expected to take three months. He hasn’t played since March.
âI am very happy to be part of the organization. Everything is so high end here, âhe said.
It’s the first time he’s lived on the West Coast and says he’s impressed with Las Vegas. He had only come to town to play games.
âEveryone has said how high the quality of life is here, how much they love living here. It’s a great community and the guys seem to love living here and obviously the weather is great. There is a lot to like, so I feel very lucky.
Eichel has said he is looking forward to having the operation so he can get back on the ice and has said he could add something to the team once he is at 100%.
âI have a lot more. I think I am only scratching the surface.
