IMC and GC Buying Group join forces for a new exhibition

ATLANTIS — International Market Centers and GC Buying Group are partnering to host a new gourmet housewares buying and programming event that will debut at the Atlanta market in July and expand to the Las Vegas market next year.

The event will be called GCX: Expo & Education. GC will be recruiting brands – both established IMC exhibitors and new entrants – to exhibit in a one-day vendor expo open to GC Buying Group members and market participants.

The Atlanta Market‘s inaugural showcase on Wednesday, July 13, is expected to feature more than 75 homeware and gourmet food vendors, IMC said. Brands exhibiting at GC Expo have the opportunity to extend their participation in the Atlanta market as exhibitors, in the Gourmet and Housewares categories of temporary exhibits, through Monday, July 18.

The second day of Expo will feature a full day of educational programs and product demonstrations exclusively for members of the GC Buying Group, as well as non-members who purchase a membership prior to or during the event. For Atlanta Market, the lineup is Thursday, July 14, with topics and presenters to be announced in the coming weeks.

“GCX: Expo & Education will be a two-day opportunity for GC Buying Group members to fully immerse themselves in business building product discovery and education,” said Janis Johnson, Founder and President of GC BuyingGroup. “The model we created with IMC is a win-win for buyers and sellers. This creates an opportunity for retailers to explore the Atlanta market in its entirety after their two-day GC focus and provides GCX vendors direct access to GC retailers and a wider Atlanta market buyer audience. .

To celebrate the launch, GC Buying Group and IMC will jointly host a special Homewares and Gourmet Food Party – open to all Atlanta Market participants – at the JURA Demonstration Kitchen (AmericasMart Building 2, Floor 8) on Wednesday July 13.

The program will expand to the Las Vegas market in 2023. Ahead of its launch, GC Buying Group will present programming including a Sip & Shop party co-hosted with IMC at the Expo at World Market Center Las Vegas. Details will be announced in the coming weeks.

Dorothy Belshaw, IMC’s executive vice president, chief marketing and customer officer, said the partnership allows IMC to introduce new GC-approved brands to shoppers in Atlanta and Las Vegas, while GC has the opportunity to expand its programming and membership. “GC has presented a vendor showcase in Atlanta since 2005 and GCX is a natural extension and expansion of this very successful model,” Belshaw said.
