Las Vegas Raiders set to commit to QB Derek Carr via extension

With new head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler all together in Las Vegas, a lot of things are starting to fall into place.

One of the main ones is the future of quarterback Derek Carr.

According to Ian Rapoport, sources tell him the Las Vegas Raiders are moving forward with Carr to stay at quarterback. The Silver and Black are open to discussing a contract extension with Carr.

Carr is expected to earn close to $20 million next season. This will be the last year of his current contract.

Sources also say McDaniels was Carr’s first choice when it came to a new head coach.

A short-term deal between Carr and the Raiders is likely.
