Las Vegas Raiders rookies Tre’von Moehrig and Nate Hobbs were named to this season’s Pro Football Focus All-Rookie Team.
Moehrig and Hobbs are two of eight players on the roster who were not selected in the first round.
Moehrig, a second-round draft pick, has managed to learn from the veterans around him. This season, he has 55 tackles, six passes defended and one interception.
“Moehrig was the closest thing to a pure one-tier safety the NFL had this season in Las Vegas,” the PFF analysis said. their 82% of snaps with a single safety post-snap were also the most in the NFL at over 10 percentage points. Moehrig impressed in this role.
Meanwhile, Hobbs, who was a fifth-round pick, made his mark defensively after earning a starting position.
Hobbs finished as the highest ranked PFF rookie corner.
Hobbs has 74 tackles, four quarterback hits, one sack, one forced fumble and one interception this season.
“Hobbs doesn’t have gaudy interception or pass-breaking numbers, as a lot of his work in the slot was coming and limiting the damage on plays ahead of him,” the analysis said. PFF. “He did it well, allowing just 0.7 yards per snap coverage, seventh among cornerbacks with at least 250 snaps. Hobbs paired that play in coverage with a 78.8 run defense rating PFF in 2021 who ranked 11th in the position.
