Man shot dead, miners injured in Laughlin

A man was fatally shot Friday night at a warehouse in Laughlin, police said.

At approximately 7:45 p.m., officers found a man and two minors who had been shot at a facility near the 2400 block of Needles Highway. Both minors were airlifted to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a press release from the Metropolitan Police Department on Saturday evening.

“Arriving officers observed a male matching the suspect’s description, later identified as Manuell Rogers, and took him into custody without incident,” police wrote.

Police say Rogers left his home and drove to the warehouse and shot the man in the parking lot “for no apparent reason.” Rogers’ family went to see him at the facility and he reportedly started shooting at them.

Rogers, 35, was incarcerated in the Clark County Detention Center for open murder and multiple counts of attempted murder, according to prison records.
