Spirit Airlines launches its first flight in Idaho

Ultra-low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines officially flies from Idaho.

Spirit launched its new daily service from Boise Airport to Las Vegas on Friday, the airline’s first service to or from Idaho.

With this addition, Spirit offers 70 daily flights to or from Las Vegas, giving Boise travelers more connecting options through Sin City, including to Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Orlando, Seattle, and more.

Spirit is currently being acquired by JetBlue, a deal that came after lengthy negotiations and a bidding war with Frontier. JetBlue will acquire Spirit for $33.50 per share in cash, including an advance payment of $2.50 per share in cash payable upon approval of the deal by Spirit shareholders. When the deal is finalized, the combined carrier will be the fifth-largest airline in the United States.
